ചാൾസ്റ്റൺ, യു.എസ്. സംസ്ഥാനമായ പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ വിർജീനിയയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ പട്ടണവും സംസ്ഥാന തലസ്ഥാനവുമാണ്. കനാവ്വാ കൌണ്ടിയിലെ എൽക്, കനാവ്വ എന്നീ നദികളുടെ സംഗമ സ്ഥാനത്താണ് ചാൾസ്റ്റൺ പട്ടണം നിലനിൽക്കുന്നത്. 2013 ലെ സെൻസസ് കണക്കുൾ പ്രകാരമുള്ള ഈ പട്ടണത്തിലെ ജനസംഖ്യ 50,821 ആണെങ്കിലും മുഴുവൻ മെട്രോപോളിറ്റൻ മേഖലയിലേയും ജനസംഖ്യ നോക്കിയാൽ 224,743 ആണ്. ഈ പട്ടണം വാണിജ്യവ്യവസായങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു കേന്ദ്രമാണ്. ആദ്യാകാല വ്യവസായങ്ങളിൽ ഉപ്പ്, പ്രകൃതി വാതകം എന്നിവയായിരുന്നു. പിന്നീട് കല്‌ക്കരി, പട്ടണത്തിന്റെയും സമീപ മേഖലകളുടെയും പ്രധാന സാമ്പത്തിക സ്രോതസായി മാറി.
