ഒരു നക്ഷത്രം വെള്ളക്കുള്ളനായി മാറാനുള്ള ഉയര്‍ന്ന ദ്രവ്യമാനപരിധിയാണു ചന്ദ്രശേഖര്‍ സീമ (Chandrasekhar limit). സൂര്യന്റെ പിണ്ഡത്തിന്റെ 1.44 മടങ്ങ്‌ (1.44<math>M_{\odot}</math>) വരെ പിണ്ഡമുള്ള നക്ഷത്രങ്ങള്‍ സ്വയം കത്തിയെരിഞ്ഞ്‌ അവസാനം വെള്ളക്കുള്ളന്മാരായി മാറുംഎന്നാണു ഈ പരിധി കൊണ്ട് അര്‍ത്ഥമാക്കുന്നത്. ഒന്നേ ദശാംശം നാല്‌ നാല്‌ എന്ന സംഖ്യയാണ്‌ ചന്ദ്രശേഖര്‍ ലിമിറ്റ്‌ എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്‌.
