കശേരുകികളായ ജീവികളുടെ നട്ടെല്ല് നിർമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന അസ്ഥികൾ ആണ് കശേരുക്കൾ. വ്യത്യസ്ത ജീവി വർഗങ്ങളിൽ ഇവയുടെ എണ്ണവും വ്യതസ്തം ആയിരിക്കും. മനുഷ്യന്റെ നട്ടെല്ലിൽ 33 കശേരുക്കളാണുള്ളത് , എന്നാൽ പാമ്പുകളിൽ ഇത് 200 മുതൽ 400 വരെയും അതിനു മുകളിലേക്കും ആണ് .
