അതുപോലെ ഒരു പ്രത്യേക വീക്ഷണപഥം രേഖപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിൽ ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിനുള്ള കഴിവ് സമകാലികരായ ഇറ്റാലിയൻ കലാകാരന്മാരെ അതിശയിക്കുന്നതായിരുന്നു. മഡോണ ഒഫ് ദി ചാൻസലർ റോളിൻ, തിമോത്തിയോസ്, തലപ്പാവുവച്ച മനുഷ്യൻ തുടങ്ങിയ ചിത്രങ്ങൾ അതിനുദാഹരണങ്ങളാണ്. എണ്ണച്ചായചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ രചനാസങ്കേതത്തിനും യാൻ പുരോഗമനോന്മുഖമായ പരിവർത്തനങ്ങൾ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു. വാർണീഷും തെളിഞ്ഞതും സ്ഫുടവുമായ മാധ്യമങ്ങളും ഇദ്ദേഹം ചിത്രരചനയിൽ ഉപയോഗിച്ചു. നിറങ്ങളുടെ തിളക്കവും ചിത്രതലത്തിന് ഇനാമൽ പൂശിയാലെന്നപോലെ ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന പൂർണതയും കൈവരിക്കാൻ ജാനിന് കഴിഞ്ഞത് ചായം കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യുന്നതിൽ ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിനുണ്ടായിരുന്ന അതുല്യമായ വൈദഗ്ദ്ധ്യവും അതിൽ ഇദ്ദേഹം സ്വീകരിച്ചിരുന്ന സമ്പ്രദായത്തിന്റെ പ്രത്യേകതയും കൊണ്ടാണെന്നു പറയാം. വ്യാപകമായ അർഥത്തിൽ ഒരു ചിത്രരചനാപദ്ധതിതന്നെ ഇദ്ദേഹം നടപ്പിലാക്കി. ശിഷ്യന്മാരും സഹപ്രവർത്തകരും ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ശൈലിക്ക് പ്രചാരം നല്കുവാനുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ലെങ്കിലും നെതർലൻഡിലെ കല പതിനാറാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടുവരെ നിലനിർത്തിവന്ന പ്രത്യേക സ്വഭാവത്തിനു തുടക്കം കുറിച്ച ആൾ എന്ന നിലയിൽ യാൻ വാൻ അയ്ക് സ്മരണാർഹനാണ്. നോ: അയ്ക്; ഹ്യൂബർട് വാൻ
