2001 ലെ സെൻസസ് പ്രകാരം പനമരത്ത് 11651 ആൾക്കാരാണ് ഉള്ളത്, അതിൽ 5891 പുരുഷന്മാരും 5760 സ്ത്രീകളുമാണ്.<ref name="censusindia" />
==പനമരം പുഴ==
മാനന്തവാടി, ബാവലി, നൂൽപ്പുഴ എന്നിവയ്ക്കൊപ്പം കബനിനദിയുടെ ഒരു പോഷകനദിയായ പനമരം പുഴ ഈ ഗ്രാമത്തിലൂടെയാണ് ഒഴുകുന്നത്.
==പനമരം കോട്ട==
[[Indian freedom struggle|ഇന്ത്യൻ സ്വാതന്ത്രസമരവുമായി]] വളരെയേറെ ബന്ധമുള്ള ഒരിടമാണ് പനമരം. [[Pazhassi Raja|പഴശ്ശി രാജാവിന്റെ]] അനുയായികളായാ [[Thalakkal Chanthu|തലക്കൽ ചന്തുവും]] [[എടച്ചേന കുങ്കൻ നായർ|എടച്ചേന കുങ്കൻ നായരും]] 1802 ഒക്ടോബർ 11 ആം തിയതി ബ്രിട്ടീഷുകരുടെ ബോംബെ കാലാൾപ്പട നിയന്ത്രിച്ചിരുന്ന പനമരം കോട്ട പിടിച്ചെടുക്കുകയുണ്ടായി. ആ ശ്രമത്തിൽ ക്യാപ്റ്റൻ ഡിക്കിൻസണും ലെഫ്റ്റനന്റ് മാക്‌സ്‌വെല്ലും 25 പട്ടാളക്കാരോടൊപ്പം കൊല്ലപ്പെടുകയുണ്ടായി.<ref> {{cite news| url=http://www.hindu.com/2008/11/15/stories/2008111550740200.htm | location=Chennai, India | work=The Hindu | title=Demand for memorial to tribal warriors | date=November 15, 2008}}</ref> [[പഴശ്ശിരാജാവും ഈസ്റ്റ് ഇന്ത്യ കമ്പനിയും തമ്മിലുള്ള യുദ്ധങ്ങൾ|പഴശ്ശിയുടെ ബ്രീട്ടീഷുകാരോടുള്ള യുദ്ധങ്ങളിൽ]] പ്രധാനമായ ഒന്നായിരുന്നു ഈ വിജയം.

[[Malabar Natural History Society (MNHS)|മലബാർ നാച്ചുറൽ ഹിസ്റ്ററി സൊസൈറ്റിയുടെ]] വാർഷിക പക്ഷിസർവ്വേ പ്രകാരം മലബാറിൽ എണ്ണത്തിലും ഇനത്തിലും മുട്ടയിട്ടുപെരുകാനുമെല്ലാം ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ കൊക്കുകൾ എത്തിച്ചേരുന്നത് പനമരത്ത് ആണ്.<ref name="Manoj">{{cite news| url=http://www.thehindu.com/sci-tech/energy-and-environment/article518721.ece | location=Chennai, India | work=The Hindu | first=E.
