==ജീവിതരേഖ==
ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യകാലങ്ങൾ ഇദ്ദേഹം ന്യൂയോർക്കിലും, ന്യൂജെർസിയിലും, നേവാർക്കിന്റെ പ്രാന്തപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും കഴിച്ചുകൂട്ടി. 1841-ൽ ''ഷെർമൻ ആൻഡ് സ്മിത്ത്'' എന്ന ഭൂപടനിർമാണ സ്ഥപനത്തിൽ ചേർന്നു. അവിടെ നിന്നും പ്രായോഗിക പരിശീലനം നേടിയ ഇന്നസ് 1844-ൽ [[ഫ്രാൻസ്|ഫ്രഞ്ചുചിത്രകാരനായ]] റെജിഫ്രൻസ്വാ ഗിഗ്നോയുടെ സ്റ്റുഡിയോയിൽ ജോലിയിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ചു. 1847-ൽ [[യൂറോപ്|യൂറോപ്പിൽ]] പര്യടനം നടത്തുകയും പല പ്രശസ്ത കൃതികളുമായി പരിചയപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഈ പഠനം ഇദ്ദേഹത്തെ വിഷയങ്ങൾ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നതിൽ സഹായിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി. എങ്കിലും സ്വതസിദ്ധമായ ശൈലിയിൽ മാറ്റംവന്നില്ല. 1850-ൽ ഇന്നസ് [[പാരീസ്|പാരീസിലേക്കു]] പോയി. അവിടെ അദ്ദേഹം ''ഷീൻബാപ്റ്റിസ്ത് കാമൽകൊറൊട്'', ''ഷീൻ ഫ്രാൻസ്വാമില്ലെ'' എന്നീ ബാർബിസ്ൺ ചിത്രകാരന്മാരുമായി സമ്പർക്കത്തിലേർപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു. അവരുടെ കൃതികളെ ഇന്നസ് ആദരിച്ചിരുന്നു എന്നാൽ അവരുടെ ശൈലി അനുകരിക്കാതിരിക്കാൻ പ്രത്യേകം ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചിരുന്നു.<ref>http://www.artnet.com/artists/george-inness/ George Inness Biography</ref>
==ഭൂദൃശ്യചിത്രകാരൻ==
ഭൂദൃശ്യങ്ങൾ ചിത്രീകരിക്കുമ്പോൾ [[ഭൂമിശാസ്ത്രം|ഭൂമിശാസ്ത്രപരമായ]] വിശദീകരണത്തെക്കാൾ ദേശാഭിമാനം വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്ന പ്രതിപാതനമാണ് ഇന്നസ് ലക്ഷ്യമാക്കിയിരുന്നത്. ''തോമസ്കോൾ, ആഷെർ ബി. ഡുറന്റ്, ഫ്രഡറിക് ചർച്ച്'' എന്നീ റിവർസ്കൂൾ പ്രധിനിധികളുടെ സംഭാവനയായ നൈസർഗികത (naturalism) ഇന്നസ് സ്വായത്തമാക്കി. ഇന്നസിന്റെ ''പീസ് ആൻഡ് പ്ലെന്റി'' എന്ന ചിത്രം (1865) ഹഡ്സൺറിവർ സ്കൂളുമായുള്ള ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ബന്ധത്തെ സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. യു.എസിലെ വിസ്തൃതവും മനോഹരവുമായ [[കൃഷി|കൃഷിസ്ഥലങ്ങൾ]] ഈ [[ചിത്രം|ചിത്രത്തിൽ]] മനോഹരമായി ചിത്രീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ദേശീയ കലയിൽ ഇമ്പ്രഷനിസത്തിനുള്ള സ്വധീനത മുൻകൂട്ടി കണ്ടത് ഇദ്ദേഹമാണ്. ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അവസാനത്തെ രചനയാണ് ''സൺസെറ്റ് ഇൻ ദി വുഡ്''. പച്ചപ്പുല്ലുകൊണ്ട് നിറഞ്ഞ ഒരു വനത്തിലെ സായംസന്ധ്യയാണ് ഈ ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ വിഷയം. റിയലിസം, ഹഡ്സൺ റിവർസ്കൂൾ ശൈലി എന്നിവയിൽനിന്നെല്ലാം വ്യത്യസ്തമായ ഒരു പ്രത്യേകശൈലി ഇന്നസിന് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്ന് ഈ ചിത്രം തെളിയിക്കുന്നു. ഇന്നസ് ഇറ്റലിയിലും ഫ്രാൻസിലുമായി 1870 മുതൽ 1874 വരെ ജീവിച്ചു. അതിനുശേഷം ന്യൂജർസിയിൽ സ്ഥിരതാമസമാക്കി. 1894 [[ഓഗസ്റ്റ്]] 3-ന് ഇദ്ദേഹം [[സ്കോട്ട്‌ലൻഡ്|സ്കോട്ട്‌ലണ്ടിൽ]] അന്തരിച്ചു.
