ഈ ഓർഡിനൻസിലൂടെ ചില പുതിയതരം കുറ്റകൃത്യങ്ങൾ അഥവാ മറ്റ് തരത്തിൽ കുറ്റകരമായിരുന്ന ചില കൃത്യങ്ങൾ കൃത്യമായ നിർവ്വചനത്തോടെ, ഇന്ത്യൻ ശിക്ഷാ നിമയത്തിലെ കുറ്റകൃത്യങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടികയിലേക്ക് ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തപ്പെട്ടു. ആസിഡ് ആക്രമണം, ലൈംഗികാതിക്രമം, ഒളിഞ്ഞുനോട്ടം, പുറകേനടക്കൽ തുടങ്ങിയവയാണ് ഇപ്രകാരം ഇന്ത്യൻ ശിക്ഷാനിയമത്തിൽ പുതുതായി ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തപ്പെട്ട കുറ്റകൃത്യങ്ങൾ.
