[[ഇന്ത്യ|ഇന്ത്യയ്ക്ക്‌]] തുടർച്ചയായി മൂന്നുതവണ [[ഒളിമ്പിക്സ്|ഒളിമ്പിക്സിൽ]] [[ഹോക്കി]] സ്വർണ്ണമെഡൽ നേടിക്കൊടുത്ത ടീമുകളിലെ സുപ്രധാനകളിക്കാരനായിരുന്നു ധ്യാൻ ചന്ദ്. 1905 ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 29-ന്‌ [[അലഹാബാദ്|അലഹാബാദിൽ ജനിച്ചു]]. 1928-ലായിരുന്നു ധ്യാൻ ചന്ദ് ആദ്യമായി ഒളിമ്പിക്സിൽ സ്വർണ്ണമെഡൽ കരസ്ഥമാക്കിയത്‌. ഹോക്കി കളിയിലെ ഒരു മാന്ത്രികനായാണ് ഹോക്കി പ്രേമികൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ കണക്കാക്കിയത്‌.
