2009 ഇന്ത്യൻ പ്രീമിയർ ലീഗ്

2009 ഇന്ത്യൻ പ്രീമിയർ ലീഗ് അഥവാ ഐ.പി.എൽ. 2009, ബി.സി.സി.ഐ . 2007-ൽ സൃഷ്ടിച്ച ട്വെന്റി20 ക്രിക്കറ്റ് ലീഗായ ഇന്ത്യൻ പ്രീമിയർ ലീഗിന്റെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ സീസണാണ്.2009 ഏപ്രിൽ 18 മുതൽ മേയ് 24 വരെ ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്കയിലാണ് മത്സരങ്ങൾ നടന്നത്[2]. ലോകകപ്പിന് പിന്നിലായി ക്രിക്കറ്റ് ലോകത്തിൽ നടക്കുന്ന ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ടൂർണമെന്റാകും ഇതെന്നാണ് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത്[3] . ഇന്ത്യയിൽ മാത്രമായി 20 കോടി ടെലിവിഷൻ പ്രേക്ഷകർ ഇതിനുണ്ടാകുമെന്ന് കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു[4].

ഇസ്ലാമിക തീവ്രവാദികൾ ഈ മത്സരത്തെ ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നതായി വാർത്തകൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു[5]. 2009-ൽ ഇന്ത്യയിൽ നടക്കുന്ന പൊതുതെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പുമായി ഐ.പി.എൽ രണ്ടാം സീസണിന്റെ സമയക്രമവുമായി പങ്കുവെക്കുന്നതിനാൽ ഇന്ത്യൻ കേന്ദ്ര ഗവൺമെന്റ് ഐ.പി.എൽ മത്സരങ്ങൾക്ക് കേന്ദ്ര ഗവണ്മെന്റിന്റെ സുരക്ഷ നൽകുന്നതിൽ പരിമിതികൾ ഉണ്ടെന്ന് ബി.സി.സി.ഐ യെ അറിയിച്ചു. ഇതിന്റെ ഫലമായി ഐ.പി.എല്ലിന്റെ രണ്ടാം സീസൺ ഇന്ത്യക്ക് പുറത്താണ്‌ നടത്തുകയെന്ന് ബി.സി.സി.ഐ. അറിയിച്ചു[6]. 2009 മാർച്ച് 24-ന്‌ ഐ.പിൽ.എല്ലിന്റെ രണ്ടാം സീസൺ മത്സരങ്ങൾ ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്കയിലാണ്‌ നടക്കുകയെന്ന് ബി.സി.സി.ഐ. ഔദ്യോഗികമായി അറിയിച്ചു[7].
