ഒഹായോയിലെ അക്രോണിൽ വളർന്നത് ക്വീൻ, മാതാപിതാക്കളോടും ജ്യേഷ്ഠൻ റോബർട്ട് ക്ലോയിഡിനോടും ഒപ്പം താമസിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പിതാവ് ക്ലോയിഡ് റോബർട്ട്[1] ഒരു നിർമ്മാണ സംരംഭകനും (ടയർ അച്ചുകൾ നിർമ്മിക്കുന്ന അക്രോൺ എക്യുപ്‌മെന്റ് കമ്പനിയുടെ സ്ഥാപകൻ[2]), മാതാവ് ഹാരിയറ്റ് ഇ. ഒരു മുൻ സ്കൂൾ അദ്ധ്യാപികയായ വീട്ടമ്മയായിരുന്നു.[3] കൗമാരപ്രായത്തിൽ ക്വീൻ ഒരു നിരീശ്വരവാദിയായിരുന്നു.[4]
