വലിയ നീർക്കാക്ക
ഒരു ജലപ്പക്ഷിയാണ് (aquatic bird) വലിയ നീർക്കാക്ക.[2] [3][4][5] ജലത്തിനടിയിൽ വച്ച് പിടിക്കുന്ന മീനിനെ ജലത്തിന് പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടു വന്ന് ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. ഇവ ഉയരം കൂടിയ മരങ്ങളിൽ കൂട്ടങ്ങളായി അടുത്തടുത്ത് കൂടുവച്ചാണ് പ്രജനനം നടത്തുന്നത്.[6]

പ്രത്യേകതകൾ തിരുത്തുക
വലിയ നീർക്കാക്ക സാധാരണ ഗതിയിൽ വലിപ്പമുള്ള ഒരു പക്ഷിയാണ്. പക്ഷേ, പല സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ ഇത് പല വലിപ്പത്തിൽ കാണാറുണ്ട്. ഇതിന്റെ ഭാരം ശരാശരി 1.5 കി.ഗ്രാം മുതൽ [7] 5.3 കി. ഗ്രാം വരെ ആണ്.(11.7 lbs)[8] [9]. ഇതിന്റെ നീളം 70 മുതൽ 102 സെ.മീ വരെ ഉണ്ടാകാറുണ്ട്. ചിറകിന്റെ വിസ്താരം 121 മുതൽ 160 സെ. മീ വരെ കാണാറുണ്ട്. ഇതിന്റെ വാലിന് നല്ല നീളമുള്ളതും തൊണ്ടയുടെ ഭാഗത്ത് മഞ്ഞ നിറത്തിലും കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. കൊക്കിന്റെ അറ്റം വളഞ്ഞതാണ്. [10] തിളങ്ങുന്ന കറുപ്പാണ്. തലയുടെ ഉച്ചിയിൽ വെളുത്ത തൂവലുകളുണ്ട്. കുട്ടികൾക്ക് 3 വയസ്സുവരെ അടിവശം വെളുപ്പും മുകൾ വശം തവിട്ടു നിറവുമാണ്. [11]
== കാണപ്പെടുന്നത് ==ഇത് സാധാരണ മിക്കയിടങ്ങളിലും കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു പക്ഷിയാണ്. കടൽ , അഴിമുഖം , ശുദ്ധജല തടാകങ്ങൾ നദികൾ എന്നിവയിൽ നിന്നും ആഹാര സമ്പാദനം നടത്തുന്നു . [12]
