റോക്ക് പ്ടാർമിഗൻ
ഗ്രൗസ് കുടുംബത്തിലെ ഒരു ഇടത്തരം ഗെയിംബേർഡ് ആണ് റോക്ക് പ്ടാർമിഗൻ. (Lagopus muta) യുകെയിലും കാനഡയിലും പ്ടാർമിഗൻ എന്നാണ് ഇത് അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്. കാനഡയിലെ നുനാവട്[3]പ്രദേശത്തിന്റെ ഔദ്യോഗിക പക്ഷിയും [4] ന്യൂഫൗണ്ട് ലാൻഡ്, കാനഡ, ലാബ്രഡോർ എന്നീ പ്രവിശ്യകളുടെ ഔദ്യോഗിക ഗെയിം പക്ഷിയുമാണ്.[5]ജപ്പാനിൽ ഇതിനെ റൈച്ചെ (雷鳥) എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നു. അതിനർത്ഥം "ഇടി പക്ഷി" ("thunder bird") എന്നാണ്. ഗിഫു, നാഗാനോ, ടോയാമ പ്രിഫെക്ചർ എന്നീ പ്രദേശങ്ങളുടെ ഔദ്യോഗിക പക്ഷിയായ റോക്ക് പ്ടാർമിഗൻ രാജ്യവ്യാപകമായി സംരക്ഷിത ഇനമായി കണക്കാക്കുന്നു.

കാനഡയിലെ നുനാവടിലെ ഔദ്യോഗിക പ്രദേശിക പക്ഷിയാണ് റോക്ക് പ്ടാർമിഗൻ[6]ഇതിൻറെ ഇനുക്റ്റിറ്റുട്ട് പേര് ᐊᕐᑭᒡᒋᖅ ᐊᑕᔪᓕᒃ, അക്കിഗ്ഗിക്ക് അറ്റാജുലിക് എന്നാണ്.[7] ന്യൂഫൗണ്ട് ലാൻഡിലെയും ലാബ്രഡോറിലെയും ഔദ്യോഗിക ഗെയിം പക്ഷിയാണിത്.
