മാലസ് സിൽവെസ്ട്രിസ്

മാലസ് സിൽവെസ്ട്രിസ് (Malus sylvestris) യൂറോപ്യൻ ക്രാബ് ആപ്പിൾ മാലസ് ജനുസ്സിലെ ഒരു സ്പീഷീസാണ്. യൂറോപ്പിലെ തദ്ദേശവാസിയായ ഇതിന്റെ ശാസ്ത്രീയനാമത്തിന്റെ അർത്ഥം "വനം ആപ്പിൾ" എന്നാണെങ്കിലും യഥാർത്ഥ കാട്ടു ആപ്പിളിന് മുള്ളുകളുണ്ടായിരിക്കും. ഈ മരം വളരെ വിരളമാണ്. പക്ഷേ മിക്ക യൂറോപ്യൻ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെയും തദ്ദേശവാസിയാണ്. ഒറ്റയ്ക്കൊ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ചെറിയ ഗ്രൂപ്പുകളോ ആയിട്ടാണിവ കാണപ്പെടുന്നത്.[2]
