മരതക രാജൻ
കേരളത്തിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്ന സൂചിവാലൻ കുടുംബത്തിൽ ഉള്ള ഒരു കല്ലൻതുമ്പിയിനമാണ് മരതക രാജൻ[2][3] (ശാസ്ത്രീയനാമം: Anax guttatus).[4][5][6]

കുളങ്ങളിലും തടാകങ്ങളിലുമാണ് ഇവ പ്രജനനം നടത്തുന്നത്. ഇവക്ക് പീതാംബരൻ തുമ്പിയുമായി വളരെ സാമ്യമുണ്ട്. പക്ഷെ ഉദരത്തിലെ ഏഴും എട്ടും ഖണ്ഡങ്ങളിലുള്ള വേറിട്ടുനിക്കുന്ന പൊട്ടുകകൾ ഇവയെ തിരിച്ചറിയാൻ സഹായിക്കുന്നു. പീതാംബരൻ തുമ്പിയിൽ അവ കൂടിച്ചേർന്നിരിക്കുന്ന മഞ്ഞക്കലകളാണ്.[7][8][9]
