ബ്രാൻവെൽ ബ്രോണ്ടി
പാട്രിക് ബ്രാൻവെൽ ബ്രോണ്ടി (/ˈbrɒnti/, commonly /ˈbrɒnteɪ/;[1] ജീവിതകാലം: 26 ജൂൺ 1817 – 24 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 1848) ഒരു ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ചിത്രകാരനും എഴുത്തുകാരനുമായിരുന്നു. ബ്രോണ്ടെ കുടുംബബത്തിലെ ഏക ആൺപ്രജയും പ്രശസ്ത എഴുത്തുകാരായിരുന്ന ഷാർലറ്റ് ബ്രോണ്ടെ, എമിലി ബ്രോണ്ടെ, ആനി ബ്രോണ്ടെ എന്നിവരുടെ സഹോദരനുമായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം.

ബ്രോണ്ടെയുടെ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം സ്വഭവനത്തിൽ പിതാവിൻറെ കർശനപരിശീലനത്തിലായിരുന്നു. അക്കാലത്ത് സഹോദരിമാരുടെ സൃഷ്ടിപരമായി കഴിവുകൾ പങ്കുവയ്ക്കുകയും കവിതകളും ക്ലാസിക്കുകളിൽനിന്നുള്ള പരിഭാഷകളും രചിച്ച് സഹോദരിമാരുടെ പ്രശംസപിടിച്ചുപറ്റുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ കാലക്രമേണ അദ്ദേഹം ജോലികൾ മാറി മാറി ചെയ്യുകയും ഛായാചിത്ര രചനവഴി ഉപജീവനത്തിനുള്ള മാർഗ്ഗം കണ്ടുപിടിക്കുകയും മദ്യത്തിനും മയക്കുമരുന്നിനും അടിമയായിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്തു. അതോടൊപ്പം വിവാഹിതയായ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയുമായുള്ള പരാജയപ്പെട്ട ബന്ധംകാരണം കൂടുതൽ കുഴപ്പങ്ങളിലേയ്ക്കെത്തിച്ചേരുകയും അകാലമരണത്തിനിരയാകുകയും ചെയ്തു.
ബ്രാൻവെൽ ബ്രോണ്ടെ മാതാപിതാക്കളായ പാട്രിക് ബ്രോണ്ടെയുടെയും (1777–1861) അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻറെ പത്നി മരിയ ബ്രാൻവെൽ ബ്രോണ്ടെയുടെയും (1783–1821) ആറു മക്കളിൽ നാലാമത്തേയാളും ഏക ആൺകുട്ടിയുമായിരുന്നു. വെസ്റ്റ് റൈഡിങ് ഓഫ് യോർക്ക്ഷെയറിൽ ബ്രാഡ്‍ഫോർഡിനു സമീപമുള്ള തോൺട്ടണിലായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം ജനിച്ചത്. 1821 ൽ പിതാവിന് ജോലിസംബന്ധമായി സ്ഥലം മാറ്റമായപ്പോൾ കുടുംബം ഹാവർത്തിലേയ്ക്കു മാറിത്താമസിച്ചു.
