ബാരാഹ്മാസ

ഒരു കാവ്യാത്മക രീതി

ഇന്ത്യൻ ഉപഭൂഖണ്ഡത്തിൽ പ്രചാരത്തിലുള്ള ഒരു കാവ്യാത്മക രീതിയായ ബാരാഹ്മാസ ( "പന്ത്രണ്ട് മാസം") [1][2][3]പ്രധാനമായും ഇന്ത്യൻ നാടോടി പാരമ്പര്യത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഉത്ഭവിച്ചതാണ്.[4] സാധാരണയായി ഇതിലെ പ്രമേയം കാലാനുസൃതവും അനുഷ്ഠാനപരവുമായ സംഭവങ്ങൾ കടന്നുപോകുന്നതിന്റെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിൽ കാമുകനേയോ ഭർത്താവിനേയോ ആകാംക്ഷയോടെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്ന വിരഹിണിയായ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയുടെ വൈകാരികാവസ്ഥയെ ചുറ്റിപ്പറ്റിയാണ്.[5][6] മാസങ്ങളുടെ പുരോഗതി (ഹിന്ദു ചാന്ദ്ര കലണ്ടർ അനുസരിച്ച്) ഈ വിഭാഗത്തിന്റെ ഒരു അടിസ്ഥാന ഘടകമാണ്. എന്നാൽ മാസങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണം ബാരഹ് (Hindi: बारह) അല്ലെങ്കിൽ "പന്ത്രണ്ട്" ആയിരിക്കണമെന്നില്ല. നാടോടി പാരമ്പര്യങ്ങളുടെ അതേ തലമുറയിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ചൗമാസ, ഛൈമാസ, അഷ്ടമാസ (യഥാക്രമം നാല്, ആറ്, എട്ട് മാസത്തെ ചക്രങ്ങൾ) തുടങ്ങിയ സമാനമായ കാവ്യരൂപങ്ങളും നിലവിലുണ്ട്. യഥാർത്ഥത്തിൽ ഒരു വാമൊഴി പാരമ്പര്യമാണെങ്കിലും, ബംഗാളി, ഗുജറാത്തി, ഹിന്ദി, രാജസ്ഥാനി, ബിഹാരി, പഞ്ചാബി മുതലായ പ്രധാന ആധുനിക ഇന്തോ-ആര്യൻ ഭാഷകളിലുടനീളം നിരവധി ഇന്ത്യൻ കവികളുടെ [8] നീളമേറിയ കവിതകൾ, ഇതിഹാസങ്ങൾ, ആഖ്യാനങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയിൽ ഈ വിഭാഗം ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ആദിവാസി ജനതയുടെ നാടോടി കവിതകളിലും ഇത് കാണാം.[9]

ഉത്ഭവം തിരുത്തുക

പന്ത്രണ്ട്" എന്നർത്ഥം വരുന്ന "ബാരഹ്" മാസം എന്നർത്ഥം വരുന്ന "മാസ്" എന്നീ ഹിന്ദി പദങ്ങൾ ചേർന്നാണ് ബാരാഹ്മാസ എന്ന വാക്ക് ഉത്ഭവിച്ചത്. [10] ബംഗാളിയിലെ ബാറോമാസി പോലെ മറ്റ് ഭാഷകളിലും സമാനപദങ്ങൾ പ്രചാരത്തിലുണ്ട്.[11]

ബാരാഹ്മാസ, ഷട്ഋതു (‘ആറ് സീസണുകൾ’)വിഭാഗത്തിലും അവധി ഭാഷയിലെ പ്രേമാഖ്യാനാസ്(‘റൊമാൻസ്’),[12] നൽഹ കവിയുടെ [8][13]ബിസാൽദേവ്-റാസ് പോലുള്ള രാജസ്ഥാനി റസൗസുകൾ ('ബല്ലാഡുകൾ'), അതുപോലെ പ്രശസ്ത ബ്രജ് ഭാഷാ കവി കേശാവദാസിന്റെ കൃതികളിലും ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.[14] പ്രധാനമായും രാമ-കൃഷ്ണാരാധനയെ ചുറ്റിപ്പറ്റിയുള്ള തുളസിദാസ്, സുർദാസ് എന്നിവരുടെ കവിതകളിലും ഭക്തിനിർഭരമായ ബാരാഹ്മാസ കണ്ടെത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.[15][10]

ബാരാഹ്മാസ ആദ്യം ഹിന്ദിയിലും പിന്നീട് ക്രമേണ ഉറുദുവിലും പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു. ഒർസിനി പറയുന്നതനുസരിച്ച്, "ഒരുപക്ഷേ 1860 കളിലെ ഉത്തരേന്ത്യയിൽ വാണിജ്യ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരണങ്ങളിൽ ആദ്യത്തെ ഗണ്യമായ വിഭാഗമായിരുന്നു അവ."[16]

ബംഗാളിയിൽ, മംഗൽ-കാവ്യ എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഭക്തിസാഹിത്യത്തിൽ ബാറോമാസിസ് ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിരുന്നു. ചന്ദ്രാവതിയുടെ ഹിന്ദു ഇതിഹാസമായ രാമായണത്തിന്റെ അനുരൂപീകരണത്തിൽ ഒരു വർഷം മുഴുവൻ രാമനുമായുള്ള അനുഭവങ്ങൾ സീത ഓർമ്മിക്കുന്നു.[11]

പേർഷ്യൻ തിരുത്തുക

പേർഷ്യൻ ഭാഷയിലെ ആദ്യത്തേതും ഏകവുമായ സാഹിത്യ ബരാഹ്മസ രചിച്ചത് സദ്-ഇ-സൽമാൻ ആണ്. ലാഹോറിൽ താമസിച്ചിരുന്ന കവി, ഇന്ത്യൻ നാടോടി കൺവെൻഷനുകളാൽ സ്വാധീനിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കാം. എന്നാൽ അതിന്റെ പ്രമേയം ഒരു സ്ത്രീയുടെ വാഞ്‌ഛയോ കാമുകന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടായ്മയോ അല്ല, ഇറാനിയൻ മാസമായ പർവാർഡിനിൽ നിന്നാണ് ഇത് ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത്[12]

ഗുജറാത്തി തിരുത്തുക

പത്തൊൻപതാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിന്റെ തുടക്കത്തിൽ ഗുജറാത്തിലെ കവി-സന്യാസി ബ്രഹ്മാനന്ദ് ബാരഹമാസിനെ പുനർനിർമ്മിക്കുകയും സ്വാമിനാരായണ സമ്പ്രദായത്തിന്റെ ദൈവശാസ്ത്രം ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ രചനകൾ വലിയ കൃഷ്ണ-ഭക്തി കവിതകൾക്ക് കീഴിലാണ്.[17]
