ബാപ്റ്റിസിയ
ബാപ്റ്റിസിയ (Baptisia) (വൈൽഡ് ഇൻഡിഗോ[2] ഫാൾസ് ഇൻഡിഗോ) ലെഗ്യൂം കുടുംബമായ ഫാബേസീയിലെ ഒരു ജനുസ്സാണ്. കുറ്റിച്ചെടിപോലുള്ള ചിരസ്ഥായിയായ പയർചെടിയുടെ പുഷ്പങ്ങൾ പോലെയും ഉള്ള സസ്യമാണിത്. കിഴക്കും, തെക്കേ-വടക്കേ അമേരിക്കയുടെ വനപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും പുൽപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും കാണപ്പെടുന്ന തനതായ സസ്യമാണിത്. ബാപ്റ്റിസിയ ഓസ്ട്രാലിസ്സ് എന്ന സ്പീഷീസ് ആണ് സാധാരണയായി കണ്ടുവരുന്നത്.[3] ബാപ്റ്റിസിയ സ്പീഷീസ് ഷിനിയ ജഗ്വാറിന എന്ന നിശാശലഭത്തിന്റെയും ചില ലെപിഡോപ്റ്റെറ സ്പീഷീസുകളുടെയും ലാർവകളുടെ ഭക്ഷ്യ സസ്യങ്ങളായി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു.
