ഫിംഗർ (ഏകകം)
നീളമളക്കാനായി ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്ന ഒരു ആന്ത്രോപിക് ഏകകമാണ് ഫിംഗർ അഥവാ ഫിംഗർ ബ്രെഡ്ത്. മുതിർന്ന ഒരാളുടെ വിരൽ വീതിയാണ് ഇതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനം. 3⁄4 ഇഞ്ച് അല്ലെങ്കിൽ 1⁄16 അടി എന്ന് ഫിംഗർ നിയതമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു[1][2][3][4]. ഡിജിറ്റ് എന്ന ഏകകവും ഏകദേശം സമാനമായ സവിശേഷതകളോടെ നിലനിന്നിരുന്നു.
വൈദ്യശാസ്ത്രത്തിലും അനുബന്ധ വിഷയങ്ങളിലും (അനാട്ടമി, റേഡിയോളജി മുതലായവ) ഫിംഗർ (അക്ഷരാർത്ഥത്തിൽ ഒരു വിരലിന്റെ വീതി) അനൗപചാരികവും എന്നാൽ വ്യാപകമായി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നതുമായ ഒരു ഏകകമാണ്. [5] [6]
പാനീയങ്ങളിലും കുടിമത്സരങ്ങളിലുമല്ലാതെ[7][8][9] ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ, ഈ ആന്ത്രോപിക് ഏകകങ്ങൾ മിക്കവാറും ഉപയോഗിക്കാതായിട്ടുണ്ട്.
