Popeye the Sailor Meets Sindbad the Sailor

1929 ൽ എൽസെ ക്രിസ്ലെർ സെഗാർ, കിങ് ഫീച്ചേർഴ്‌സിനു വേണ്ടി തയ്യാറാക്കിയ തിംബിൾ തീയേറ്റർ എന്ന ചിത്രകഥാപരമ്പരയിലൂടെയാണ് ആദ്യമായി പോപ്പായ് പുറംലോകം കാണുന്നത്. 1930-കളിൽ കിങ് ഫീച്ചേഴ്‌സിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും വിലപ്പെട്ട മുതൽക്കൂട്ടായി 'തിംബിൾ തീയേറ്റർ' മാറി. 1938-ൽ സെഗാറിന്റെ മരണശേഷം മറ്റ് പലരും പോപ്പായ് കഥകളുടെ സൃഷ്ടിയിലേക്ക് കടന്നു വന്നു.
