പ്രമുഖ സോൾ ഗായകനാണ്‌ പേഴ്സി സ്ലെഡ്ജ്(November 25, 1940 – April 14, 2015)৳.അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ‘വെൻ എ മേൻ ലവ്‌സ് എ വുമൺ’ എന്ന ഗാനം ലോകത്തിൽ സൂപ്പർ ഹിറ്റായിരുന്നു.ലൂയിസിയാനയിലെ ബാറ്റൻ‌റൂജിലുള്ള വസതിയിൽ 2015 ഏപ്രിൽ 14നായിരുന്നു അന്ത്യം[1].

- Sledge was an inaugural Rhythm and Blues Foundation Pioneer Award honoree in 1989.[2]
- In 1996, he was the recipient of the Blues Music Award in 1996 for best Soul/Blues album of the year with his record Blue Night.[2]
- In November 2004, Percy Sledge was inducted into the Carolina Beach Music Hall Of Fame.[3]
- In 2005, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.[4]
- In May 2007, Percy Sledge was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame for his contributions by the State of Louisiana.[2]
- Sledge was an inductee of the Delta Music Museum in Ferriday, Louisiana.[2]
