വിഭവങ്ങളും സമ്പത്തും വിപണിയിൽ വിൽപന നടത്താതെയും ഏതെങ്കിലും കാരാറുകൾ ഇല്ലാതെയും ഭാവിയിൽ പ്രതിഫലം പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാതെയും കൈമാറ്റം ചെയ്യുന്ന രീതിയാണ് പാരിതോഷിക സമ്പദ് വ്യവസ്ഥ ( Gift economy) . ഇത് പരസ്പര കൈമാറ്റ വ്യവസ്ഥയ്ക്കും വിപണിയിലധിഷ്ടിതമായ വ്യാപാര രീതികൾക്കും വിരുദ്ധമായ സാമ്പത്തിക വ്യവസ്ഥയാണ്. ഇങ്ങന കൈമാറ്റം ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ കൃത്യമായ വില നിശ്ചയിക്കപ്പെടുന്നില്ല. അതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ പണമോ മറ്റു വസ്തുക്കളോ കൈമാറ്റത്തിനുള്ള മാധ്യമമായി ഉപയോഗിക്കപ്പെടുന്നില്ല.
