ഉരസ്സിന് മുകൾ ഭാഗത്ത് ചൂണ്ടയുടെ ആകൃതിയിൽ, തിളങ്ങുന്ന പച്ച വരയുള്ള ചേരാചിറകൻ കുടുംബത്തിൽ ഉള്ള ഒരു സൂചിത്തുമ്പിയാണ് പച്ച ചേരാച്ചിറകൻ (ശാസ്ത്രീയനാമം: Lestes elatus).[2][1] ഇന്ത്യ, തായ്‌ലാന്റ്, ശ്രീലങ്ക എന്നീ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ ഇവ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു.[1]

കേരളത്തിലെ സമതല പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും മലനിരകളിലുമെല്ലാം വളരെ സാധാരണമാണ് ഈ തുമ്പി. നെൽപ്പാടങ്ങൾ, വലിയ കുളങ്ങൾ, ചതുപ്പ് നിലങ്ങൾ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലൊക്കെ ഇവയുടെ വലിയ കൂട്ടങ്ങളെ കാണാം. ഇളം നീലയും തവിട്ടു നിറവുമുള്ള ഉരസ്സിൽ കറുത്ത പൊട്ടുകളും ഉരസ്സിന് മുകൾ ഭാഗത്ത് ചൂണ്ടയുടെ ആകൃതിയിൽ തിളങ്ങുന്ന പച്ച നിറത്തിലുള്ള വരയുമുണ്ട്. പ്രായപൂർത്തിയാകാത്ത ആൺതുമ്പികൾ പെൺതുമ്പികളെപ്പോലെ തവിട്ടു നിറത്തിലാണ് കാണപ്പെടുന്നത്.[3][4][5][6][7]
