പ്യൂർട്ടോ റിക്കോയിലെ സാൻ ജുവാൻ എന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത് ഒരു സവർണ്ണ കുടുംബത്തിലാണ് ജിയാനിന ബ്രാച്ചി ജനിച്ചത്. [5][6] കൗമാരപ്രായത്തിൽ, ഫാഷൻ മോഡലും ടെന്നീസ് ചാമ്പ്യനും സാൻ ജുവാൻ ചിൽഡ്രൻസ് ക്വയറിന്റെ സ്ഥാപക അംഗവുമായിരുന്നു. [7] അവരുടെ പിതാവ് യൂറിപ്പിഡിസ് ("പിലോ") ബ്രാച്ചി ഒരു ടെന്നീസ് ചാമ്പ്യനുമായിരുന്നു.[6][8]

സ്റ്റേറ്റ് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഓഫ് ന്യൂയോർക്കിൽ നിന്ന് ഹിസ്പാനിക് സാഹിത്യത്തിൽ പിഎച്ച്ഡി നേടിയ സ്റ്റോണി ബ്രൂക്ക് (1980), റട്ജേഴ്സ് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി, സിറ്റി യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഓഫ് ന്യൂയോർക്ക്, കോൾഗേറ്റ് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ പ്രൊഫസറായിരുന്നു.[10] ഫോർഡ് ഫൗണ്ടേഷൻ, ഡാൻഫോർത്ത് സ്‌കോളർഷിപ്പ്, നാഷണൽ എൻഡോവ്‌മെന്റ് ഫോർ ദ ആർട്‌സ്, ന്യൂയോർക്ക് ഫൗണ്ടേഷൻ ഫോർ ദ ആർട്‌സ്, റട്‌ജേഴ്‌സ് യൂണിവേഴ്‌സിറ്റി, പെൻ എന്നിവയുൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് ബ്രാഷിക്ക് അവാർഡുകളും ഫെലോഷിപ്പുകളും ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.[11]ഗുസ്താവോ അഡോൾഫോ ബെക്കറിന്റെ കവിതകളെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഒരു പുസ്തകവും സെർവാന്റസ്, ഗാർസിലാസോ, സീസർ വല്ലെജോ, ജുവാൻ റാമോൺ ജിമെനെസ്, ഫെഡറിക്കോ ഗാർസിയ ലോർക്ക എന്നിവരെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ലേഖനങ്ങളും അവർ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചു.[4]
