കെ.എസ്. തിമ്മയ്യ
ഇന്ത്യാ-ചീനായുദ്ധത്തിനു തൊട്ടുമുമ്പുവരെ ഭാരതീയ കരസേനയെ നയിച്ച സൈനികമേധാവിയായിരുന്നു കൊഡന്തേരാ സുബ്ബയ്യ തിമ്മയ്യ എന്ന ജനറൽ കെ. എസ്. തിമ്മയ്യ. 1957 മുതൽ 1961 വരെ അദ്ദേഹം ഈ സ്ഥാനത്തു തുടർന്നു. (ജ:30 മാർച്ച് 1906 മഡിക്കേരി-കൂർഗ്.-മ:17 ഡിസം:-1965 സൈപ്രസ്).രണ്ടാം ലോക മഹായുദ്ധത്തിൽ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് സൈന്യത്തിന്റെ ഒരു ഇൻഫാൻട്രി ബ്രിഗേഡിനെ നയിച്ച ഏക ഭാരതീയനുമാണ് തിമ്മയ്യ.[1] കൊറിയൻ യുദ്ധത്തിനുശേഷം ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭയുടെ സമാധാനം പരിരക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള സേനയിൽ അംഗമായ അദ്ദേഹം സൈപ്രസിൽ വച്ച് ഔദ്യോഗിക പദവിയിലിരിയ്ക്കേ അന്തരിക്കുകയാണുണ്ടായത്.

സേനയിൽ തിരുത്തുക
1926 ൽ സെക്കൻഡ് ലെഫ്റ്റനന്റ് ആയി സൈനികസേവനം ആരംഭിച്ച തിമ്മയ്യ ഹൈലാൻഡ് ലൈറ്റ് ഇൻഫാൻട്രിയിൽ സേവനം അനുഷ്ഠിച്ച ശേഷം 1928 ൽ ലെഫ്റ്റനന്റ് ആയി.[2][3]സോജിലായിലേയും കാശ്മീരിലേയും ചില സൈനികനീക്കങ്ങൾക്ക് നേതൃത്വം കൊടുത്തത് തിമ്മയ്യ ആണ്.[4]
