കാനാച്ചിലപ്പൻ.[2] [3][4][5] ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ Brown-cheeked Fulvetta, Brown-cheeked Alcippe എന്നും മുമ്പ് Quaker Babbler എന്നും പേരുണ്ട്. ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമം Alcippe poioicephala. ഇവ ഇന്ത്യയിലേയും തെക്കു കിഴക്കൻ ഏഷ്യയിലേയും തദ്ദേശ ഇനമാണ്. ഇവയ്ക്ക് ദേശാശടന സ്വഭാവം ഇല്ല. ഇലകൾക്കിടയിൽ മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ഇക്കൂട്ടരെ കണ്ടെത്തുവാൻ എളുപ്പമല്ല. എന്നഌ ഇവ്യുടെ കൂജനം കേട്ടാൽ എളുപ്പം തിരിച്ചറിയാം.

കാനാചിലപ്പൻ, കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിൽ നിന്നും

ചെറിയ വട്ടത്തിലുള്ള ചിറകാണ് ഉള്ളത്. അധികം പറക്കാറില്ല. നീളമുള്ള വാലടക്കം 15 സെ.മീ നീളമുണ്ട്. മുകൾഭാഗം തവിട്ടുനിറമാണ്. ശരീരവും ചിറകും അടയാളങ്ങളില്ലാത്ത മങ്ങിയ നിറമാണ്. കൊക്ക് ഇരുണ്ടതാണ്.

പ്രജനനം തിരുത്തുക

മരങ്ങളിലാണ് കൂടുണ്ടാക്കുന്നത്. ഇലകൾക്കിടായിൽ ഒളിപ്പിച്ച കൂടാണ് ഉണ്ടാക്കുക. ഇവ കൂട് കെട്ടുന്നത് ജനുവരി മുതൽ ജൂൺ വരെയാണ്. പുല്ലും ഇലകളും മോസും നേരീയ വേരുകളും കൊണ്ടാണ് കൂടുണ്ടാക്കുന്നത്. മരത്തിന്റെ കവരങ്ങളിലോ തൂങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്ന വിധത്തിലൊ ആണ് കൂട് വെയ്ക്കുന്നത്. ശരാശരി 91.8 മി.മീ വീതിയും 68.21 മിമീ താഴ്ചയും ഉള്ള കൂടാണ് ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നത്.

2-3 മുട്ടകൾ ഇടുന്നു. 8-12 ദിവസത്തിനകം മുട്ടകൾ വിരിയും.
