ഓൾഡ് മാൻ ഓഫ് ദ ലേക്ക്
1896 മുതൽ ഒറിഗണിലെ ക്രേറ്റർ തടാകത്തിൽ ലംബമായി കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ഹെംലോക്ക് പോലുള്ള മരത്തിൻറെ ചെറുകുറ്റിയായ 30 അടി (9 മീ) ഉയരമുള്ള ഒരു ട്രീ സ്റ്റംപ് ആണ് ഓൾഡ് മാൻ ഓഫ് ദ ലേക്' (Old Man of the Lake).
ഈ സ്റ്റംപ് ഏതാണ്ട് 2 അടി (61 സെന്റീമീറ്റർ) വ്യാസവും ജലത്തിൽ നിന്ന് 4 അടി (1.2 മീറ്റർ) ഉയരവുമാണ്. അതിന്റെ ഉപരിതലത്തിൽ ഫോട്ടോ ഡീഗ്രഡേഷൻ മൂലം വൈറ്റ് ബ്ളീച്ചായി കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. ഫ്ലോട്ടിംഗ് വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ അന്തിമഭാഗം പിളർന്ന് ജീർണ്ണിച്ചതാണെങ്കിലും വിസ്താരമുള്ളതിനാലും ജലത്തിൽ പൊങ്ങിനിൽക്കുന്നതിനാലും ഒരു വ്യക്തിയുടെ ഭാരം ഇതിന് താങ്ങാൻ കഴിയും.[1]
