അദ്നാൻ അബിദി
ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ന്യൂഡൽഹി ആസ്ഥാനമായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫറാണ് അദ്നാൻ അബിദി.[1] റോയിട്ടേഴ്‌സിന്റെ ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫിയിൽ പുലിറ്റ്‌സർ സമ്മാനം നേടിയ മൂന്ന് ടീമിൻ്റെ ഭാഗമായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം.[2][3]

1997ൽ ഡാർക്ക്‌റൂം അസിസ്റ്റന്റായിട്ടാണ് അദ്നാൻ തന്റെ കരിയർ ആരംഭിച്ചത്. പാൻ-ഏഷ്യ ന്യൂസ് ഏജൻസി, ഇൻഡോ ഫോട്ടോ ന്യൂസ്, പ്രസ് ട്രസ്റ്റ് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ അദ്ദേഹം ജോലി ചെയ്തു, ഒടുവിൽ റോയിട്ടേഴ്‌സിൽ ഒരു സ്ട്രിംഗറായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി. പിന്നീട് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ഒരു സ്റ്റാഫ് സ്ഥാനം ലഭിച്ചു. 1999 ലെ ഇന്ത്യൻ എയർലൈൻസ് വിമാനം IC814 കാണ്ഡഹാർ ഹൈജാക്ക്, 2004 ഇന്ത്യൻ മഹാസമുദ്രത്തിലെ ഭൂകമ്പവും സുനാമിയും, 2015 നേപ്പാൾ ഭൂകമ്പവും 2016 ലെ ധാക്ക ആക്രമണവും 2005 ലെ കാശ്മീർ ഭൂകമ്പവും, 2011-2012 കാലത്തെ മാലിദ്വീപിലെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ പ്രതിസന്ധിയും ഉൾപ്പെടെ നിരവധി വെല്ലുവിളി നിറഞ്ഞ സാഹചര്യങ്ങൾ അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ കരിയറിൽ പകർത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.[4]

2017-ൽ, അബിദി റോഹിങ്ക്യകളുടെ പലായനം കവർ ചെയ്തു, അദ്ദേഹവും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സഹപ്രവർത്തകനായ ഡാനിഷ് സിദ്ദിഖിയും റോയിട്ടേഴ്‌സിന്റെ ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫി സ്റ്റാഫിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി ഫീച്ചർ ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫിക്ക് പുലിറ്റ്‌സർ സമ്മാനം നേടുന്ന ആദ്യത്തെ ഇന്ത്യക്കാരായി.[5][6]
2019-20 ഹോങ്കോംഗ് പ്രതിഷേധങ്ങളുടെ കവറേജിന് ബ്രേക്കിംഗ് ന്യൂസ് ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫിക്കുള്ള 2020 ലെ പുലിറ്റ്‌സർ സമ്മാനം അദ്ദേഹം നേടി.[3][7]
2022-ൽ, പുലിറ്റ്‌സർ സമ്മാനം നേടിയ മറ്റൊരു ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫി പാക്കേജിന്റെ ഭാഗമായിരുന്നു അബിദി. ഇന്ത്യയിലെ COVID-19 പാൻഡെമിക്കിനെ കവർ ചെയ്യുന്നതായിരുന്നു ആ പ്രവർത്തനം. ഇത് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള പുലിറ്റ്‌സർ സമ്മാനങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണം മൂന്ന് ആയി ഉയർത്തി.[2][8]
