ഘാനയിലെ നടനായ മജിദ് മിഷേൽ ഒരു നൈജീരിയൻ ഭീകരനെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനെച്ചൊല്ലിയും [2] ഇസ്‌ലാമിക ഭീകരതയെ ചിത്രീകരിച്ചതിന്റെ പേരിലും ചിത്രത്തിന് ചില വിവാദങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടായി. അതിന്റെ ഫലമായി ഘാനയിൽ സിനിമ നിരോധിക്കപ്പെട്ടു.[3] നൈജീരിയയിലെ ഫിലിം തിയേറ്ററുകളും ഇതേ കാരണങ്ങളാൽ ചിത്രം പ്രദർശിപ്പിക്കാൻ വിസമ്മതിച്ചു. നൈജീരിയയിൽ റിലീസ് ചെയ്യുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ് അമൻഫോയ്ക്ക് ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ പേര് ബോക്കോ ഹറാം എന്നതിൽ നിന്ന് നേഷൻ അണ്ടർ സീജ് എന്നാക്കി മാറ്റേണ്ടി വന്നു.[4][5]
