പശ്ചിമഘട്ടത്തിൽ മാത്രം കാണപ്പെടുന്ന നീർക്കാവലൻ കുടുംബത്തിൽ ഉള്ള ഒരിനം കല്ലൻ തുമ്പിയാണ് ഇന്ത്യൻ പെരുംകണ്ണൻ (ശാസ്ത്രീയനാമം: Macromia indica).[1][2][3][4][5]
