അമ്മാൻ


ജോർദാന്റെ തലസ്ഥാനനഗരിയാണ് അമ്മാൻ (English: /ɑːˈmɑːn/; അറബി: عَمّان‬ ʻammān pronounced [ʕamːaːn]). ഏഴ് കുന്നുകളുടെ മുകളിൽ 1,680 ചതുരശ്ര കിലോമീറ്റർ വിസ്തൃതിയിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയുന്ന ഈ നഗരം രാജ്യത്തെ പ്രധാന വാണിജ്യ കേന്ദ്രവും ഏറ്റവും വലിയ നഗരവും ആണ്. ജോർദാന്റെ കൊടിയിലെ ഏഴ് നക്ഷത്രങ്ങൾ അമ്മാൻ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഏഴ് കുന്നുകളെ സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നു[അവലംബം ആവശ്യമാണ്]. ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ ജനസംഖ്യ ഉള്ള നഗരവും ഇത് തന്നെയാണ്.[5]. അമ്മാൻ ഗവർണ്ണറേറ്റിന്റെ ഭരണസിരാ കേന്ദ്രമാണ് അമ്മാൻ നഗരം. അറബ് നഗരങ്ങളിലെ ഏറ്റവും ആധുനിക നഗരമായി അമ്മാനെ കണക്കാക്കുന്നു[6].
