ഹിറ്റ്ലർ ആസ്ട്രിയ കീഴടക്കിയതിനെത്തുടർന്ന് ജർമ്മനിയ്ക്കുവേണ്ടി കളിയ്ക്കുന്നതിൽ വിമുഖത കാണിച്ചിരുന്നസിൻഡ്ലറെയും, കൂട്ടുകാരി കാമിലയെയും ദുരൂഹസാഹചര്യത്തിൽ വിയന്നയിലുള്ള വസതിയിൽ 1939 ജനുവരി 23 നു കാർബൺ മോണോക്സൈഡ് ശ്വസിച്ചു മരണപ്പെട്ടനിലയിൽ കണ്ടെത്തുകയാണുണ്ടായത്.
