ഡോബ്സൺ കുഴിത്തവള
മാംഗ്ലൂർ തവള (Mangalore bullfrog),ഡോബ്സൺ കുഴിത്തവള(Dobson's burrowing frog) തുടങ്ങിയ പേരുകളിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു തവളയാണ് സ്ഫെറോത്തിക്ക ഡോബ്സണൈ(Sphaerotheca dobsonii). [1][2]ഇതിനെ ആദ്യമായി മംഗലാപുരത്ത് നിന്നാണു കണ്ടെത്തിയത്. സാമാന്യം വലിയ കണ്ണുകളും , കണ്ണുകൾക്ക് മുകളിലായുള്ള പുരികം പോലെയുള്ള വലിയ വരയുമാണ് ഇവയുടെ സവിശേഷത.ഇവയ്ക്ക് മണ്ണിൽ കുഴികൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാനുള്ള കഴിവുണ്ട്. മഴക്കാലം കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ ഇവ അങ്ങനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ കുഴികളിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്നു. മഴക്കാലത്ത് ഇവ പുറത്തേക്ക് വരുന്നു.[3]
