ജോൺ മക്കൻറോ

അമേരിയ്ക്കൻ ടെന്നീസ് കളിക്കാരനായിരുന്ന ജോൺ പാട്രിക് മക്കൻറോ പശ്ചിമ ജർമ്മനിയിലെ വീസ്ബീഡനിൽ 1959 ഫെബ്രുവരി 16 നു ജനിച്ചു .പിന്നീട് പിതാവിന്റെ ഉദ്യോഗാർത്ഥം അമേരിയ്ക്കയിലേയ്ക്കു താമസം മാറുകയാണുണ്ടായത്.മക്കൻറോ 3 വിംബിൾഡൺ,4 യു.എസ്. ഓപ്പൺ അടക്കം 7ഗ്രാൻഡ് സ്ളാം വ്യക്തിഗതകിരീടങ്ങൾ നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ 9 ഡബിൾസ് കിരീടവും ,ഒരു മിക്സഡ് ഡബിൾസ് വിജയവും തന്റെ ടെന്നീസ് ജീവിതത്തിൽ കരസ്ഥമാക്കുകയുണ്ടായി. കളിക്കളത്തിലെ വിവാദങ്ങൾ മക്കൻറോയെ മറ്റുകളിക്കാരിൽ നിന്നു തികച്ചും വ്യത്യസ്തനാക്കി. 1981 ൽവിംബിൾഡണിൽ വച്ച് അമ്പയർക്കു നേരെയുണ്ടായ തർക്കം വിവാദമായിരുന്നു. 1990 ലെ ഓസ്ട്രേലിയൻ ഓപ്പണിൽ നിന്നും അയോഗ്യനാക്കിയതും ഇത്തരം പെരുമാറ്റങ്ങളെത്തുടർന്നായിരുന്നു. ഡേവിസ് കപ്പിൽ അമേരിയ്ക്കൻ സംഘത്തെയും മക്കൻറോ നയിയ്ക്കുകയുണ്ടായി.പ്രൊഫഷണൽ ടെന്നീസിൽ നിന്നു വിരമിച്ചതിനു ശേഷം ഏ.ടി.പി. ചാമ്പ്യൻസ് ടൂറിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കുകയുണ്ടായി.
