കുൽഹർ
വടക്കേ ഇന്ത്യ, പാകിസ്താൻ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ പരമ്പരാഗതമായി ഉപയോഗിച്ചുപോരുന്നതും കളിമണ്ണുകൊണ്ട് നിർമ്മിച്ച് ചുട്ടെടുക്കുന്നതുമായ പിടിയില്ലാത്ത ഒരു തരം കോപ്പകളാണ് കുൽഹർ (kulhar)(Hindustani: कुल्हड़ or کلہڑ). ഒരു തവണ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് കളയുന്നതരത്തിലുള്ള ഇത്തരം കോപ്പകൾ മിനുസപ്പെടുത്താത്തതും ചായംപൂശാത്തവയുമാണ്. ഇവ ഷിക്കോകോറ എന്ന പേരിലും അറിയപ്പെടാറുണ്ട്.[1] ഉയർന്ന താപനിലയിൽ ചൂളയിൽ ചുട്ടെടുക്കുന്ന ഇവ ആദ്യഉപയോഗത്തോടെ കളയുന്നതിനാൽ അണുവിമുക്തവും ശുചിത്വമുള്ളതുമായിരിക്കും..[2]
ഇന്ത്യൻ ഉപഭൂഖണ്ഡത്തിലെ തെരുവോര കച്ചവടങ്ങളിലും ഭക്ഷണശാലകളിലും പരമ്പരാഗതമായി ചായപോലുള്ള ചൂടുപാനീയങ്ങൾ കുൽഹാറിൽ നൽകാറുണ്ട്. ഇത്തരത്തിൽ ചെയ്യുകവഴി ആ പാനീയങ്ങൾക്ക് മണ്ണിന്റെ സവിശേഷഗന്ധവും രുചിയും പകർന്ന് കിട്ടുന്നു.[3] പാൽ ഉൽപന്നങ്ങളും കുൽഫി പോലുള്ള പ്രാദേശികമായ മധുരപദാർത്ഥങ്ങളും കുൽഹറിൽ വിളമ്പി നൽകാറുണ്ട്.[4]
കുൽഹറിന്റെ സ്ഥാനം ഇന്ന് ഇന്ത്യയിൽ പോളി സ്റ്റൈറീൻ അടങ്ങിയ പേപ്പർ കോപ്പകൾ വളരെ വേഗം കയ്യടക്കികൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്.[3][5]

സിന്ധു നദീതടസംസ്കാരകാലം മുതൽ ( ഏകദേശം 5000 വർഷം മുതൽ) ഇന്ത്യൻ ഉപഭൂഖണ്ഡപ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ ഇവ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നു.[1]

കുൽഹർ കോപ്പകൾ മിനുസപ്പെടുത്താത്തതിനാലും ചായംപൂശാത്തതിനാലും ചായപോലുള്ള ചുടുപാനീയങ്ങളൊഴിക്കുമ്പോൾ കുൽഹറിന്റെ ഉൾഭിത്തികൾ ഭാഗികമായി കുതിർന്ന് പാനീയങ്ങളോടു ചേരുകയും അങ്ങനെ പാനീയങ്ങൾക്ക് മണ്ണിന്റെ സവിശേഷഗന്ധവും രുചിയും (सौंधी ख़ुशबू, سوندهی خشبو, sondhi khushboo) ലഭ്യമാകുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. [6][3][7]
