ഐ-നാച്ചുറലിസ്റ്റ്

ലോകത്തുടനീളമുള്ള ജൈവവൈവിധ്യങ്ങളെ നിരീക്ഷിക്കുകയും രേഖപ്പെടുത്തുകയും പങ്കുവെക്കുകയും ചെയ്യാനുള്ള പ്രകൃതിസ്നേഹികളുടെയും ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞരുടെയും പങ്കാളിത്തത്തോടെയുള്ള ഒരു പദ്ധതിയാണ് ഐ-നാച്ചുറലിസ്റ്റ്, iNaturalist.[2] നിരീക്ഷണങ്ങൾ അവരുടെ വെബ്‌സൈറ്റ് വഴിയോ മൊബൈൽ ആപ്പ്ലിക്കേഷൻ വഴിയോ രേഖപ്പെടുത്താം.[3][4] ഇങ്ങനെ നൽകുന്ന വിവരങ്ങൾ പലവിധത്തിലുള്ള ഗവേഷണങ്ങൾക്കും, സംഗ്രഹാലങ്ങൾ, സസ്യോദ്യാനങ്ങൾ, പൂങ്കാവുകൾ, മറ്റു സമാന സ്ഥാപങ്ങൾ എന്നിവക്കും ഉപകാരപ്പെടുന്ന പൊതുമുതലാകുന്നു.[5][6][7] 2008-ൽ iNaturalist തുടങ്ങിയ കാലംമൂതൽ നോക്കിയാൽ അതിലെ സന്നദ്ധസേവകർ എട്ടു ദശലക്ഷത്തിലധികം നിരീക്ഷണങ്ങൾ സംഭാവന ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.[8][9]

Nate Agrin, Jessica Kline, Ken-ichi Ueda എന്നീ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഓഫ് കാലിഫോർണിയ ബെർകിലെ സ്കൂൾ ഓഫ് ഇൻഫൊർമേഷനിലെ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളുടെ മാസ്റ്റേഴ്സ് പ്രോജക്ടായിട്ടാണ് 2008-ൽ iNaturalist.org തുടങ്ങിയത്.[1] April 24, 2014-ൽ ഈ സ്ഥാപനം കാലിഫോർണിയ അക്കാദമി ഓഫ് സയൻസിൽ ലയിച്ചു.[10] 2014-ൽ iNaturalist ഒരു ദശലക്ഷം നിരീഷങ്ങൾ തികഞ്ഞത് ആഘോഷിച്ചു.[11] 2017-ൽ iNaturalist ചിത്രത്തെ ആധാരമാക്കി സ്പീഷീസിനെ തനിയെ തിരിച്ചറിയാൻ കഴിയുന്ന സംവിധാനം ("Computer Vision") ബ്രൗസറിലും മൊബൈൽ ആപ്ലിക്കേഷനിലും ലഭ്യമാക്കി.[12]

പങ്കാളിത്തം തിരുത്തുക

പൊതുജനപങ്കാളിത്തത്തോടെ വിവരങ്ങൾ ശേഖരിക്കുക എന്ന തത്ത്വത്തിലാണ് iNaturalist പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നത്. സന്നദ്ധപ്രവർത്തകർ അവരുടെ നിരീക്ഷണങ്ങൾ ചിത്രങ്ങൾ, ശബ്ദരേഖകൾ,മറ്റു ദ്രശ്യരൂപങ്ങൾ ഒക്കെയായി നൽകുന്നു. ഇത്തരം നിരീക്ഷണങ്ങൾ പല നിലവാരങ്ങളിലുള്ളവയായിരിക്കും. അവയിൽ ഗവേഷണത്തിന് അനുയോജ്യമായവ അതിനായുള്ള ഡാറ്റാബേസിലേക്കു മാറ്റുന്നു.[6][13][14].

2017-വരെ നോക്കിയാൽ iNaturalist സമൂഹത്തിൽ 500,000 സന്നദ്ധപ്രവർത്തകരും 9000 പദ്ധതികളും 6,600,000-ൽ അധികം നിരീക്ഷണങ്ങളുമുണ്ട്.[8][15][16]

2011-ൽ Global Amphibian BioBlitz, Global Reptile BioBlitzes എന്നിവയിൽ iNaturalist ഉപയോഗിച്ചുള്ള നിരീക്ഷണങ്ങൾ ആണ് ലോകത്തെമ്പാടുമുള്ള ഉരഗങ്ങളുടെയും ഉഭയജീവികളുടെയും സാന്നിദ്ധ്യം നിരീക്ഷിക്കാൻ ഉപയോഗിച്ചത്.[17]
