എഫ്വാ സതർലാന്റ്
ഒരു ഘാന സ്വദേശിയായ എഴുത്തുകാരിയും, നാടകരചയിതാവും, കവയിത്രിയും നാടക സംവിധായികയുംഅയിരുന്നു എഫ്വാ സതർലാന്റ് (Efua Theodora Sutherland) (ജനനം-27 June 1924, മരണം-2 January 1996). ഫൊറൈവ (1962), എ‍ഡുഫ (1967), ദ മാരേജ് ഓഫ് അനൻസേവ (1975) തുടങ്ങിയ എഫ്വാ സതർലാന്റയുടെ നാടകങ്ങൾ വളരെ പ്രസിദ്ധമാണ്. ഘാന ഡ്രാമ സ്റ്റുഡിയോ,[1] ദ ഘാന സൊസൈറ്റി ഓഫ് റൈറ്റേഴ്സ്,[2] ദ ഘാന എക്സ്പെരിമെന്റൽ തീയേറ്റർ തുടങ്ങിയ സംഘടനകളുടെയെല്ലാം സ്ഥാപകയാണ് ഇവർ.[3] ആദ്യകാല നാടക രചയിതാവ്, നാടക സംവിധായിക എന്നനിലയിൽ എഫ്വായുടെ സ്വാധീനം ആധുനിക ഘാനേനിയൻ രംഗകല പടുത്തുയർത്തുന്നതിൽ വളരെ വലുതാണ്.[4]

ഗോൾഡ് കോസ്റ്റിലെ (ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ ഘാന) കേപ് കോസ്റ്റിലാണ് എഫ്വാ സതർലാന്റ് ജനിച്ചത്. സെന്റ് മോണിക സ്കൂളിലും മാംപോങ് ട്രൈനിംഗ് കോളേജിലുമായി പഠനം പൂർത്തിയാക്കി.[5][6]ഉപരിപഠനം ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിലെ കേംബ്രിഡ്ജ് സർവകലാശാലയുടെ കീഴിലുള്ള ഹോമർടൺ കോളേജിലും ലണ്ടൻ സർവ്വകലാശാലയ്ക്കു കീഴിലുള്ള സ്കൂൾ ഓഫ് ഓറിയന്റൽ ആന്റ് ആഫ്രിക്കൻ സ്റ്റഡീസിലും ആയിരുന്നു.
