നിലവിലെ സുപ്രീംകോടതി ജഡ്ജിയും മുൻ മദ്രാസ് ഹൈക്കോടതി ചീഫ് ജഡ്ജിയും
നിലവിലെ സുപ്രീംകോടതി ജഡ്ജിയായ ഇന്ദിര ബാനർജി എട്ടാമത്തെ വനിത ജഡ്ജിയും സുപ്രീംകോടതിയുടെ മൂന്നാമത് വനിതാ ജഡ്ജിയും ആണ്.[3][4] ഇതിനു മുൻപ് മദ്രാസ് ഹൈക്കോടതി ചീഫ് ജസ്റ്റിസായിരുന്നു ഇന്ദിര.[5][6]

ആദ്യകാലം തിരുത്തുക
ഇന്ദിര ബാനർജി 1957 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 24 നാണ് ജനിച്ചത്. പഠനം കൊൽക്കത്തയിലെ ലോറെറ്റോ ഹൌസിൽ വെച്ചായിരുന്നു. കൊൽക്കത്തയിലെ പ്രസിഡൻസി കോളേജിലും കൊൽക്കത്ത യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി കോളേജിലും അവർ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം പൂർത്തിയാക്കി.[7] 1985 ജൂലൈ 5 ന് അഭിഭാഷകയായി ചേർന്നു കൽക്കത്ത ഹൈക്കോടതിയിൽ പരിശീലനം നേടി.[8]
ജുഡീഷ്യൽ കരിയർ തിരുത്തുക
2002 ഫെബ്രുവരി 5 ന് ഇന്ദിര ബാനർജി കൊൽക്കത്ത ഹൈക്കോടതിയിലെ ഒരു സ്ഥിരം ജഡ്ജിയായി നിയമിതയായി. 2016 ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 8 ന് ഡൽഹി ഹൈക്കോടതിയിലേക്ക് സ്ഥലം മാറ്റി. 2017 ഏപ്രിൽ 5 ന് മദ്രാസ് ഹൈക്കോടതി ചീഫ് ജസ്റ്റിസായി ചുമതല ഏറ്റെടുത്തു.[9][10][11]
